Meet Tappie, our Golf Teaching Coach at the Mandurah Country Club!
Tappie is the Head of Instruction at The Peel Golf Academy and is regarded as one of Australia’s leading coaches within the Industry.
Background
Craig had a very successful Amateur career seeing him representing NSW and receiving a Golf Scholarship to the University of Nevada Reno. Craig completed his PGA Traineeship and then played the tour both in Australia and Asia for several years with some success. During this time Craig had the opportunity to work with many great Coaches and Players and this is where he started to develop his own style of Coaching.
Over the last 25 years Tappie has been a fulltime career coach and has worked with and currently works with many elite players both Professional and Amateur. Tappie is just as comfortable teaching all levels from raw beginners to established club golfers and also delivers a great junior program to all the local schools and Mandurah Country Club.
Tappie has also been a key note speaker at several PGA Trainee teaching schools and also been part of the PGA Mentoring program helping many new players in their transition in becoming a fully qualified PGA member.
Tappie is also the Host of The Golf Guys radio show which has been running for over 8 years and can be heard on SportFM 91.3 Every Thursday night from 6-7pm
Teaching Principles
Tappies style of teaching is very relaxed and concentrates on these main key areas to create a reliable and consistent golf swing:
- Good body shape
- Neutral club face and path relationship
- Correct angle of attack
- Importance of using the body correctly
