Round 24 – W/ending Sunday 25/08/2024
Good evening Punters and here we go again for the second last time in season 2024, what a roller coaster ride it has been!!
Once again, 9 tips has proven virtually impossible to pick and so we have jackpotted and now the purse sits at a delectable $180 smakeroo’s!! Now this has to go off this week, so in the event that no one picks 9, the best tipper of the round will take home the prize, worth playing for?, then let’s get it on!! With that said, only one punter managed 8 correct tips this week, Tobes, you legend!! Well done mate and that has catapulted you right into contention. 4 of us managed a very creditable 7, well done to Back2Backin24, Bill, MagpiesB2b (dreamin!!) and John the Beer man. 18 tippers managed to land 6 correct tips, which under the circumstances was a very good effort, while a further 23 of us could manage but 5. There were 6 4’s in there as well and even a couple of 3’s from the more adventurous punters out there 😊

Yes, I know that it more than 10, but there it is!! Now, I reckon anyone of these punters could finish with a podium which is kinda awesome!!, so well done to all and best of luck this week!! For the rest of us, we shall celebrate your skill over a cold beer I am sure!! Speaking of cold beers, the 30th August has been touted as a date for a bit of a presentation night, however with the amateur golf open on, it will be a bit lonely in the club house, so I am proposing we have a presentation night and a few drinks/nibbles on Friday 27th Sep before the GF.

Round 21 – W/ending Sunday 04/08/2024
Yet again, the carnage of the AFL found us wanting and 9 tips has eluded us once again! Meaning we have another jackpot with the purse now at a very tasty $140!! Despite some outrageous results, we had two punters snagged 8 tips a very good effort indeed, well done to both Colin and Not so Loong! 10 punters helped themselves to 7 winners, a very creditable performance, while a further 16 tippers managed to snare 6 winners. With plenty of 5 to be had we even found a few 4’s a few 3’s and oh my we had 5 punters manage a very average 1 correct tip Oh Dear ☹
Turns out, our leaderboard was not immune to the weekend’s ravages, with some big movers stepping up at the pointy end of the season. It is however Pants 42 who dares to be challenged and with 120 tips still sits 4 tips clear of his nearest rival Johno4 on 116. Zor, the big mover Chips63 and not so Loong are all on 115 and vying for a podium finish with Rog the Dodge, Buc892, Morgo36, Bardy, Lockie3, Drug Free Bombers, Evotallica and Brett Mavrick all on 114 and still in with a chance of some spoils.
The Knockout is still going with just the two punters duking it out for tip honors there.
Round 20 – W/ending Sunday 28/07/2024
Once again, the upsets of the round did not assist tippers in any way at all and consequently, our weekly prize has jackpotted yet again, this week standing at a tantalizing $120 smackeroos!
There was however another prize on offer, $50 for the derby. Whilst there was a few of us missed the chance for derby delights, overwhelmingly, Freo was the chosen tip and wisely so as it turned out. With a win by 35 points, there were two punters who very cleverly tipped the exact margin and hence will share the spoils! Well done and congrats to Roger and Des, you know the drill lads, Shareen has some money with your name on it, well done indeed!! I will mention a certain Freo fan who got quite excited with a 32 point margin, oh well Mand, next time 😊.
There were two punters who did however manage 8 correct tips, one heck of an effort and well done to Rog the Dodge and Haynesworld. Great work also to Peta, Daveeeeeyyyy, Buc892 and John the Beer man, all of whom landed 7 tips, a great effort. The vast majority of us found 6 to our liking, while 5 it seems was also a very popular number. There were a few 4’s in there as well and Oh may goodness, there were even a 5, yes 5!! 3’s in there, c’mon on Shaz your better than that (I think 😊) and oh deal, Alby, did you tip west coast 😊😲
So, to our leader board and it seems that Pants 42 , whilst slipping back slightly, still has a strangle hold on top spot, 114 correct tips sees him 4 clear of Zor, Johnno and Drug Free Bombers, all on 110, great going, the finish line is in sight!! Rog the Dodge, Tobes and Brett Mav are hot on their heels with 109, There are quite a few of us on 108 and not without a chance of a podium finish. There are quite a few of us still in the hunt with 107 and 106 tips to their credit, but from there the going is looking a little tough!
The knockout is yet to be decided both BrettMavrick and Kingpen still locked in battle and looking to land that final blow.
Friday August 30th on completion of the twilights golf and presso, will be our time at the club to enjoy a drink, some nibbles and of course celebrate the victors! We will also have a door prize and the Club has very generously offered to provide us with some nourishment from the kitchen so would be great to have as many of us there as possible.
Round 19 – W/ending Sunday 21/07/2024
Needless to say, but with such upsets as were had, meant that tipping 9 has eluded us again, the weekly prize jackpots and will now sit at a very tasty $100!! While 9 may have proven elusive, 8 was in all fairness, a master class of tipping and one punter, Drug Free Bombers (did you tip your team, oh dear!! 😊) managed to secure 8, very impressive indeed! 18 tippers including one very excited Freo Fanatic!! Snagged 7, well done indeed, while a further 18 of us managed a creditable 6 correct tips. A further 15 punters landed 5 correct tips while there was one, something about MagpiesB2B (not sure what that means right now 😊 landed 4 and yes, there were two very clever punters who managed a lowly 2 ☹
So, despite the upsets and challenges presented, Pants42 has extended his lead on top of the tipping table and now sits on 110, 5 clear of his nearest rivals, Zor and Johno4, both on 105, great going Pants, 5 is gonna be hard to peg back, will you go into safety mode or continue to take the comp on?!! On the back of his 8, DrugFreeBombers has now moved into 4th on 104 while Kaydee, Tobes, Howsthat and Brett Mavrick are all on 103. There is quite a group on 102, 10 of us in fact and all in the running for some cash still with a strong finish. From there it is getting a little more challenging, but all the way down to Al Day Snr in 25th place, are still in the hunt for a podium!
The Knockout is still alive folks with Brett Mavrick and Kingpen still duking it out, looking to land that final blow and snare the mystery prize!
This week is also the Derby with Freo and West Coast playing so please let me know your tip and the margin as there is a $50 prize on offer for the nearest tipper!!
Round 18 – W/ending Sunday 14/07/2024
Ok, compliments of a couple of upsets, out tipping jackpot did not go off, so this week we will jackpot to a very tasty $80 if anyone is clever enough to snare all 9 tips! Having said that we had just one punter managed 8 in a terrific effort, well done Peta!! There were quite a few of us managed a very creditable 7, 13 in fact and one in particular who got quite excited having picked the Friday margin, only to see his hopes dashed on the rocks of tipping misery, never mind mate, you can still shout us a beer!! 😊15 punters also managed to snag 6 tips and there were plenty of 5’s, quite a few 4’s and yes even 3 clever, clever tippers managed to pick 3, oh dear it seems not so Loong ago, one of those tipped 8!! Oopsies!! 😊
Righty ho then, to our leaderboard and Pants 42 has a Swan like grip on the comp all of a sudden, a total of 103 correct tips seeing him 4 clear of second placed Johno on 99. On 98 Zor, Tobes and Brett Mavrick ae still right in contention with Morgo and Haydos one further back on 97. There is a group of us on 96 including 2 Dots, Gaz8ward, Kaydee, Kingpen, Chips63, Drug free Bombers and Howsthat before the field is starting to spread.
Round 17 – W/ending Sunday 07/07/2024
Once again, 9 correct tips has proven elusive, if not impossible and we jackpot again this week. Having said that, 2 punters have shown that a good score was possible with John the Beer Man and Not So Loong both snaring 8!! Well done indeed chaps. Pabs and Bddog both got 7 another terrific effort, there were 4 of us snagged 6 winners, while the vast majority of us found 5 to be as good as it got. There were also quite a few 4’s in there even a couple of 3’s and 2’s and one canny tipper obviously gave way to much thought to the process and managed just 1 correct tip Oh Dear!!!
So, to our leaderboard and Pants 42 has maintained his grip on the comp, 97 tips has him holding sway by 3 from Johno4 on 94. Zor is looking good on 93 while 8 tips has bought Not so Loong right into contention on 92 (so might say he is a Loong shot at it! 😊) He is joined on 92 by Brett Mavrick while on 91 sit Morgo, Tobes, Howsthat and Haydos. On 90, Gaz8ward completes the top 10, with Pab El Capitan, Kingpen, Chip63 and EvoTallica also sharing 90 correct tips.
The knockout still appears to be live with Brett and Kingpen still battling it out for the Mystery Prize.
Just a heads up, this year we will be having a bit of a presentation evening, Friday August 30th on completion of the Twilights comp, the Club is supporting the comp and we will hopefully get as many of you punters to come along and congratulate the winners, there will also be a door prize, nibblies and great company to boot!!
Round 16 – W/ending Sunday 28/09/2024
Ok, so with all that (as previously mentioned) carnage, it is fair to say that no one managed to snag 9 correct tips, so this week we jackpot!! There were however 7 clever little punters that did manage 6, nice work not so loong, Morgo, Howsthat, Chips, DFB, and Mav. The vast majority of us managed 5 correct tips, while 4 was similarly very popular among punters. Sadly, there were a few of us struggled on the weekend snaring but 3 correct tips, although this weeks NATA award must go to KGBlues who could only find 2 winners out of 9, never mind, there is always next week 😊
So, to our leaderboard and Pants 42 has got the jump as we near the pointy end of the season, 92 tips see him 3 tips clear of Johno4 on 89 with Zor and Brett Mav hot on their heels with 88. Rog, Morgo and Howsthat are all on 86 and well and truly in the hunt while there is quite a group gathering on 85 tips taking us all the way to our top 16! It seems that the Knockout has yet to land a final punch with Mav and Kingpen still duking it out for the mystery prize!
Well then, this week see’s the jackpot up to $40 so even if you are out of contention for a major prize, there are still goodies to be had!!
Round 15 – W/ending Sunday 23/06/2024
Now either we have improved our tipping dramatically or the season is finally starting to sort itself out as we had no fewer than 17 very clever punters who managed to snag all 6 winners again this week, well done to us all I say!! That of course means our weekly prize of $20 has been won and with a margin of 34 points, (I guess no one saw that coming!!) this week’s prize has been won by back2backin24, nicely played mate, you know the drill, Shareen has $20 big ones with your name on it!! Whilst the very best of us punters secured all 6 tips, there were in fact 20 tippers who snagged a very respectable 5 corrects tips, while a further 11 of us managed 4. Now there was also a couple of 3’s in there, I mean Wot Thu!! And then we even had 5, yes peeps, 5 tippers who found the going a little more challenging and landed but 2 winners for the week, ZOIKES!!!
Ok, so what does all this mean in terms of our overall leaderboard and Pants 42 now has some clear air in front taking the lead by just one with a total of 87, nice work!! Hot on his heels is Johno4 on 86 with Zor 2 further back on 84. Rog and Brett both have a share of 82 tips with a group of us including, 2 Dots, Gaz8ward, Kingpen, Ozzieeggchasers, Bardy and Evotollica all on 81. The field has certainly started to spread now and as we make or way towards the latter stages of the home and away season, it is getting tougher to make up ground! In addition to this, there are still 2 punters left in the knockout as Brett and Kingpen are still duking it out, well done lads.
Round 14 – W/ending Sunday 16/06/2024
With only 6 games to ponder, there were 13 of us whose intimate knowledge of the game came to the fore and we landed all 6, yes of course I was one, otherwise who gives! 😊so the jackpot certainly went off with a bang. And I can tell you that apart from 4 of those 13, all of us were in single figures for the margin! Alas, as the Highlander would remind us, there can be only one, and with a very nice margin of just one point, EvoTallica, has taken out the jackpot! Nicely played Evo, Shareen will be delighted to hand over some oxford scholars mate, beers on you!! Now the vast majority of us landed 5 correct tips, 22 of us infact and there were a few 4’s and even a few 3’s in there Oopsie!!
So, to our leaderboard and there is a tie at the top with Pants 42 and Johno4 both leading the charge on 81. Hot on their heels is Zor on 79 with Rog slipping back this week to 78. Evo’s big haul has moved him up to 77 and right in the mix, while there are a group of 5 including, Morgo, Ozzie, Howsthat, Brutuswa and Mavrick all on 76. That is our top 10, however this is a large contingent of punters, 10 in fact, who are right there on 75. From there the field is certainly starting to spread, with a couple of very skilled players on 51 holding up the ladder, on ya boys!! 😊
Round 8-13 – W/ending Monday 10/06/2024
So, with all that carnage, as opposed to any other week, NOT!, it would appear that no-one has taken out this week’s jackpot. Now you will have to forgive me as, having been away for a number of weeks, I will need to confirm the status of the weekly jackpot and advise accordingly. I have a feeling that it may have been jackpotting the whole time I was away and my research suggests as much which means that the weekly jackpot as at Round 13 was sitting at $180, and will now jackpot again!! So, with no punter picking the lot, we were left with just one who managed to snare 6 correct tips, well done John the Beer Man!! Daveeeeyyyyy, baddog, Eric and Tobes all had 5, well done lads, while 15 of us could manage but 4. It doesn’t get any better as there were 25 of us who found the going quite tough and snuck in with 3 while a further 9 of us could muster but 2, on ya Ozzie eggchasers!. Finally, there was but one, Magpie supporter who managed, well, just one 😊 good job backtoback!!
Ok, so now the leaderboard has certainly spread out in my absence, and we now have 3 punters sitting atop the table on 75, great work Pants 42, Zor and Johno4. Rog is hot on their heals on 74, while 2 further back sits Howzat on 72. On 71 sit Brutuswa, KGBlues, EvoTallica and Brett Mav while a large Peloton are in the chase pack on 70. From there it is starting to look a little rocky unless some of us back markers can pull out the digit and get cracking!!
So, to this week’s games and of course there are only 6 games which will for some be a little controversial as we now have a weekly purse of $200 on offer and only 6 matches to pick from. Sorry, but rules is rules and we are all in the same boat, so if you can snag all 6, well done!
Round 7 – W/ending Sunday 28/04/2024
Now, controversially, or not, Itipfooty does not award a point for a draw, unless it is actually chosen, so guess what, we have jackpotted once again, having said that, there were 14 of us who tipped 8 correctly which is a mighty fine effort indeed!! 19 Punters managed to tip 7 correctly which was also a terrific effort, while 14 of us tipped 6 correctly, are we getting better at this, or is the comp sorting itself out?, There were of course a few stragglers out there, 5 punters managing just 5 while oops Curls 4! And well, there were a few 3’s in there as well oopsie!!
So with Anzac now in the past, there has been a change on the leader board with Rog the Dodge now holding sway on 46 compliments of a superior margin to Ozzie egg chaser, also on 46. Gopapa, 2 dots, Pants 42 and Zor are right there on 45, with Bardy now on 44. There is a peloton forming with 8 tippers on 43, with a further 9 of us 0n 42. As the field starts to spread, 5 tippers are on 41 and another 10 of us now on 40. Already we are nearing 1/3 of the way through season 2024 so punters will soon need to make their move if they have aspirations of a podium finish!!

Round 6 – W/ending Sunday 21/04/2024
Now it is fair to say that with all that tipping carnage, 8 was nigh on impossible! So yet again we have jackpotted, the weekly prize now up to $60 mmm mmm starting to look a bit tasty! There were however 12 punters who shared the best of the tipping with 5 correct while 23 of us found that 4 would have to suffice this week. 16 Tippers managed 3 wins from 8, whilst a further 3 punters who found that 2 was a good as it gets this week. Finally, there was but one tipper who was either terribly courageous to tip roughies in an attempt to find their way up the leader board or just really mucked (yes it is an M!!) it up and managed just 1 correct tip for the week, it maybe a new record for us, but well done Freo Fanatic! 😊 (and just between us tippers, there is no sibling rivally in our comp!! 😊😊)
Ok, as mentioned, the weekly prize has jackpotted and now sits at $60, however there was another prize on offer this week. Turns out, only about 50% of us let me know their Derby selection and the margin and of those who did, just two were brave enough to select West Coast. Of those two and with a margin of 23 points, the Derby prize of $50 goes to Cheryl Badrock!! Well done indeed Cheryl, pop in and see Shareen who will sort out some cash for you.
Additionally, we are down to 3 punters left in the knockout comp, Kingpen, Rog the Dodge and Brett Mavrick still in the hunt for a prize. To our leader board and 4 correct tips has sent Ozzie eggchasers back to the top of the leaderboard (oh pleeeeeesssse!!!) with 39 tips, keep it going Mark!! He is being pursued by Go Papa, 2 Dots, Rog the Dodge and Buc892 all on 38 while on 37 and pretty much rounding out our top 10 are Pants 42, Not So Loong, Chip63, Kingpen, Zor and 2L8M8. As the field starts to spread, some of the lower ranks are gonna have to make a move before the season gets away from them!!
Round 5 – W/ending Sunday 21/04/2024
So with only 8 games on offer, a clean sweep has proven again to be elusive and will now jackpot to $40 next week. There were however two us managed a very creditable 6, well done Eric and Brett. 9 of us, including those who’s blue and gold heart beat true managed 5, well done indeed, while no fewer than 41 of us found that 4 would have to suffice. There were 8 tippers (including one Freo Fanatic in particular😊) who found the going a little tougher with 3, while Peta, not sure what happened there, but 2 is all you got!!
Now, to our leader board and can you believe it, some Geeza has snuck onto the top of the podium again, well played Ozzie eggchasers 35 tips see’s you out in front by 1 from Rog the Dodge, Go Papa, Buc892 and 2L8M8, all on 34. On 33 tips you will find Eric, 2 Dots, Pants 42, Chips63, Kingpen, Bardy and Zor. As the field starts to spread, we now have 6 punters all on 32, with a further 10 on 31. There are 8 tippers on 30, 6 on 29, 5 on 28, 2 on 27, 1 on 26, 1 on 21, and 3 of us on 20, c’mon lads, step up ya game!!
Round 4 – W/ending Sunday 07/04/2024
Now with so many cliff hanger matches to ponder, hard to believe that anyone would snare 9, but my Lord, that’s exactly what just happened, you guys are awesome!! In fact there were no fewer that 18 punters tipped 9 correctly, a record for our MCC tipping by quite a margin!! And with $40 big ones up for grabs is it any wonder!! Now, rules is rules so the clever dicks for got 9 must be separated by margin, but wait, what’s this? 3 not just got nine, but also managed to snare the margin as well, meaning the $40 will be split 3 ways, well done indeed to Zor, Kingpen and Chip63, great work folks, you can figure out how to divvy it 😊. With too many names to mention I will offer a hearty congrats to all who tipped 9, great work!!. 8 correct tips was certainly popular with 18 of us picking accurately, well done all. 11 of us correctly managed 7, not a bad effort and oh dear there were a few could muster just 6, never mind, although the 1 tipper with 5 and one with 4 may feel a little tender at the moment 😊
So to our leaderboard and a resounding 9 tips has catapulted Rog the Dodge to the top of the table on 30 tips a score he shares with Go Papa, Ozzie eggchasers and Buc892. On 29 tips, Chip63 has started his move (bit like Elvis) and sits alongside Kingpen, Bardy, Pants 42 and 2L8m8. There are 7 punters on 28 with a further 12 on 27, 9 of us are now on 26 with a further 7 on 25.
The Knockout is still knocking about and there are 4 us remaining eligible for that coveted prize, keep it going Zor, Kingpen, Rog the Dodge and that stalwart pies fan Brett Mavrick!
Round 3 – W/ending Sunday 01/04/2024
No one managed 8 but 5 of us did snag 6 which under the circumstances was a damn fine effort indeed. This of course means we have jackpotted this week so the pot carries over and now sits at $40. 14 of us managed 5 correct tips which again was pretty darn good, while the vast majority of us thought 4 was at least a par mark on the weekend. Alas, there were a couple of us who mustered only 3, normally I would be full of cheek and BS at such a woeful effort but seeing as I was one of em, Good effort 😊😊!
So, to our leader board and the comp is now starting to find a path with 2 punters now clear on 22 tips, Ozzieeggchasers (we will never hear the end of this!!) and Howsthat, good going lads! GoPapa, Rog the dodge, Buc892 and 2l8m8 are all on 21 and right on their heals with a group of 9 all on 20 tips including, Aussie Papillon, Not so Loong, Gav Coles, Chips 63, weescot, bardy, Kingpen, pants42 and Camber24. 13 of us now sit on 19, with a further 11 on 18. There are 5 punters who now sit on 17, 4 on 16, 2 on 15, 1 on 12 and 2 on 11 as the field begins to spread.
Round 2 – W/ending Sunday 24/03/2024
To our comp and despite all that carnage, we still managed to find a tipper who landed all 8 correct tips!! Well done indeed to Buc892 (on ya Cliff) Shareen will be delighted to present with $20! With that perfect score, Buc has also now catapulted himself to the top of the leader board with 4 punters all sharing the lead on 17 tips, the old stalwart Roger atop the leader board by margin alone, howsthat and Ozzie eggchasers also joining them on 17, nice work folks. Just one tip back with 16 tips are Go Papa, Aussie Pappilon, Chips63, Kingpen, Not so Loong, Bardy and Pants42 which pretty much rounds out our top 10. There are a swag of us on 15 tips with another big group on 14. There are a few 13’s, 12, 11 and 10’s out there and whats this there are even 3 of us finding the going a bit tough yet with just 7 tips to their credit!!
Round 1 – W/ending Sunday 17/03/2024
So, to our comp and our first weekly prize of $20 was up for grabs and lo and behold it has gone off already!! We had two punters correctly tip 9 this week well done indeed to Pat Ryan and Ian Green!! 😊 great effort, however there can be only one and with the nearest margin of 20 points Pat has done enough to snag a 20, Well done Pat, pop in and see Shareen, she will sort out some spondool for you! Now, we are but 1 round into the season and our top 10 is still sorting itself out but already we have 3 punters take the lead with 11 correct tips to date, Ozzie egg chasers (really!! , I mean wtf😊) leads the charge, well done Mark with Zor and Rog the Dodge right there alongside, separated only by aggregate margin. We go all the way to 17, meaning there are 14 of us with 10 correct tips to date, like my quick arithmetic and no calculator needed! 😊 The vast majority of us are on 9 with a good number on 8 and 7 even a few on 6 and somehow, somehow, we have 3 punters who have gotten off to a shaky start and have just 2 correct tips to their name ZOIKES!!!
Opening Round – W/ending Sunday 10/03/2024
May I firstly say congratulations to us all and thank you for supporting the MCC tipping comp for another year. You will be delighted to know that our numbers this year have grown to 55!! Woohooo!! Well done indeed!!! I will break that down a bit in a moment but can you believe it, some bloody Geeza managed to be the only punter to correctly tip all four winners, Heaven help us!!! However, in a curious twist said Geeza also managed to pick incorrectly in the knock out WOT THU!! Nicely played Mark😊😊 With the vast number of punters this year I will mention the top 10 or so in weekly dispatch’s and I am sure you can follow the ladder in itipfooty.com. So, in 2nd sits Morgo who was quite excited on Friday night, oh well Morgo, you’ll get there. In fact we go all the way to 15 with punters snagging 3 winners so well done to Champagne Charlie, Gaz8ward, Kingpen, Yours truly, Howsthat, Chips63, weescott, Zor, Johno4, Rog the Dodge, Bardy, Go Papa and Pant42.
This years terrific new addition, the Knock out comp, has been an absolute beauty!!! YIKES after just 4 matches, no not rounds, matches!! of season 2024 from a starting list of 55, we have 9 punters left, I am not sure whether to laugh or cry, but rules is rules, so many of us expecting the Lions to win at home rrrrrrr!!!!
