Balcony Extension and Member Update – Wednesday 17 January 2024

Dear Members,

Office Hours
As of next week, Monday 22 January 2024, the office hours will move to 9am to 3pm. Staff will be working before and after these times however, the ability to undertake morning duties and important finishing off work without disruption is required.

If this is not convenient and you need to see the office staff outside of these times, please get in touch to arrange an appointment and we can work around your schedule.

Balcony Extension

The project has passed all Board of Directors and external approval processes; plans are pictured below.

This area is now to be completed with the core project outcomes to achieve:

  • Water runoff from the building.
  • Removal the old gazebo to open the views over the course.
  • New aggregate to match existing and beautify the area.
  • Weather protection for golfers.
  • Extension of Balcony to create another 100m2 of useable hospitality area

Cachet Homes once again have been an outstanding partner to get to this stage and have been engaged for the Build, with a total budget including fit out of $350,000.

We will advise members on the schedule and how we will manage all disruptions once we are aware.

Hospitality Operations

Our F&B Manager Brodie, has left us last week as he ventures into his teaching career.  Brodie has been a fantastic employee and we thank him for his outstanding service.

The Club has undertaken an extensive review to our hospitality sector, particularly the food business.  We have a Contract Catering arrangement, which our partnership with JKL Exclusive Caterers has been excellent for over 10 years.

The partnership with JKL has allowed the Club to pass on many benefits to members including flexibility to set prices to service members rather than contractor profits, cheaper women’s lunches, free food for a member service, cheaper canape food to support core member golf events and reduced prices for member functions through JKL.  As well as many other operational benefits thanks to Sheree’s support of the Club.

As much as this arrangement has allowed the Club to continue to grow and improve as an overall facility, there are limitations as a Contractor must have a viable business and if the Club wants to expand and evolve, there are flexibilities and costs that a club cannot pass onto a third party.

The Board of Directors has endorsed and approved to bring the food service under the Club control.

Sheree will be appointed the Club’s Food and Beverage Manager.  Her passion and efforts to want the Club to succeed has been unwavering over a very loyal 10 years.  Her expertise and experience, both in the industry and our club, is tremendous.

We have a process to work through as it can be difficult to source people in the food sector however, the focus of this change is not short-term measures but recognising if we are going to continue to offer evolved and improved benefits to members, we need to put in the foundations of our operations that allow the opportunities to do this.
