Dear Members.
Saturday Golf
Unfortunately again, the weather for Saturday is extreme. Wind, with potentially heavy falls and thunderstorms are due. We will endeavour to keep the course open for play and carts available. The timesheet will be updated during the day, please check before leaving home.
Many members require carts to play, so we want to ensure all members can still access their games however, this weather has been continual with rare days of no rain. We therefore ask for carts not to be driven within 30m of a green complex. If players follow this, it lessens the chance of carts being cancelled in wet weather, as we better protect the green surrounds.
Tee Positions
Over the next two months, the blue tee areas will be preserved as much as possible, limiting their use to predominately the core male competition of Wednesday and Saturday. If the ground conditions are wet, or the tees are worn, the blue tees will be moved forward on a number of holes. It is not just the tee boxes themselves, but the traffic to and from these teeing areas, especially in areas where this traffic damage comes into play for the previous hole.
Balcony
The weather conditions have impeded the ability to undertake works on construction over the last few months, with completion now being due in September. This coming Monday and Tuesday, there will be significant works with the installation of soak well tanks and underground plumbing. Access will be available on the path to the “new” 1st hole, but will not be available across the front of the Golf Shop. Once these works are complete, road base will be laid to give a makeshift path through the sand area, until aggregate can be poured. We can’t confirm the dates of the aggregate pours, as it is weather dependent, but we will keep members informed.
The top of the balcony is closer to completion. We are waiting on some consecutive days of fine weather to be able to undertake finishing works.
Regards,
Grant Shortland- Jones
