Course Update and Today’s Play – Tuesday 4 June 2024

Dear Members,

With over 120mm of rain in recent days, flooding has caused damage to many bunkers, whilst the pictures below highlight the tidy-up required from flooding.

Today’s Members Competitions are cancelled in order to undertake repairs, and return areas of damage to competition playing standard.

Although the course remains open for social play today, we discourage playing, as bunkers will not be playable, and we need to give employees adequate times to clean fairways.

At times of extremes in weather, we ask all members to check the tee sheet the night before your game, as any instructions to the following days play will be highlighted in the Title of the sheet.

We also remind players the importance of course care over these coming months. This amount of rain will soften the course, meaning divots and pitch marks become more prevalent. Whilst driving carts through wet or worn areas can cause considerable damage.

The grass is dormant over these months and any of these issues will not repair properly for many months, hence the importance of caring for the course.

Regards

Grant Shortland-Jones, General Manager
